Lieutenant Tang Acanthurus Tennenti

A striking addition to any established saltwater aquarium, the Lieutenant Tang displays bold yellow coloration with distinctive blue accents along its dorsal and anal fins. Hardy and moderately active, it thrives in systems of 75 gallons or larger with plenty of swimming space and live rock for grazing.

Feed a varied diet of high-quality marine flakes, pellets, and frozen foods supplemented with algae-based preparations. Provide stable water conditions—temperature 72–78°F, pH 8.1–8.3, and moderate to strong water flow. Compatible with similar-sized peaceful tangs and most reef-safe fish, though territorial behavior may emerge in smaller tanks.

Best kept singly or introduced simultaneously with other tangs to minimize aggression. Monitor closely during acclimation and observe for signs of stress or fin damage.
