Gobiodon okinawae - The Yellow Clown or Coral Goby is a fun and beautiful bright yellow nano goby that lives among Acropora coral branches.
This tiny goby is perfect for small nano and pico aquariums. Yellow Clown Gobies are tiny and peaceful, making them the good reef citizens, and they even get along well with other nano goby species and conspecifics.
They are generally considered to be reef safe, but may nip at Acropora polyps if they're not kept well-fed on a variety of foods. Large tanks with large colonies of Acropora will help divide the gobies' attention, but small colonies are at higher risk. Avoid housing these with larger, more aggressive fish. Clown Gobies prefer gentle flow and are social fish that will be more active in small groups, but may also be kept singly. Current sizing 0.5"
Joe Posch says, "These guys LOVE finger leathers and devils hands as replacements for Acropora. I've not seen any damage or even polyp retraction keeping them with leather corals. They'll sit on toadstools as well as just rockwork as well."
They are currently feeding on Easy Reefs DKI pellets, TDO B2, PE Calanus, and Hikari's baby brine shrimp. We recommend introducing new fish with an acclimation box.
