The Orange Shoulder Tang is a vibrant, medium-sized species ideal for established saltwater aquariums with plenty of swimming space. Distinguished by its brilliant orange coloration on the shoulder and dorsal regions contrasting against yellow body tones, this tang adds dynamic visual interest to any reef setup.

A strong swimmer requiring 75+ gallons minimum, the Orange Shoulder Tang thrives in well-oxygenated water with stable parameters. Feed a varied diet of quality marine flakes, pellets, and frequent vegetable matter to maintain coloration and health. Peaceful with most tank mates when introduced to mature systems, though territorial behavior toward other tangs may occur.

Ideal water conditions: 72–78°F, pH 8.1–8.4, specific gravity 1.020–1.025. Provide ample rockwork and open swimming areas. Acclimate gradually over 2–3 hours to minimize stress. Hardy once established, making it a rewarding choice for intermediate to advanced hobbyists.
