Captive Bred Black Domini Clownfish

Amphiprion ocellaris - Dominoes are Black Ocellaris the have been selectively bred to exhibit minimal barring/stripes. A Domino has at least one white dot, usually located on the head on one or both sides, on an otherwise all Black Ocellaris. These dots are simply the remnant barring. A domino is a rare form of an Extreme Misbar Black Ocellaris.

Like other Ocellaris, the Domino is peaceful by clownfish standards and a great choice for both beginner and experienced aquarists. It thrives in reef tanks and does well in pairs or small groups when introduced properly. This variety is tank-bred by Proaquatix in the USA and has been raised on prepared foods, making it well-adjusted to aquarium life.

Domino Clownfish exhibit a clear social hierarchy. In a group or pair, the largest fish becomes the female while the next largest becomes male. This species is reef safe and compatible with most other reef safe fish. Their natural host anemones are H. magnifica, S. gigantea, and S. mertensii, but they often adopt Bubble Tip Anemones, rockwork, coral, or algae as substitutes for host anemones.
