Pink Lady mini nerites thrive in tanks of 3–5 gallons minimum, though they adapt well to larger community setups. Maintain water temperatures between 72–78°F with a pH of 7.0–8.5; they require slightly alkaline, moderately hard water rich in calcium for shell integrity. These snails are highly sensitive to copper and poor water quality, making consistent water changes and monitoring critical. Provide soft substrates like sand or fine gravel to protect their bodies. As prolific algae consumers, they'll graze on soft green algae, diatoms, and biofilm, but supplement with algae wafers, blanched vegetables, or calcium-fortified foods when algae is scarce. They're peaceful community members compatible with tetras, rasboras, Corydoras, and dwarf shrimp—avoid aggressive tankmates. Nerites won't breed in freshwater, preventing overpopulation, though females may deposit infertile egg capsules. With proper care, they can live 3–5 years or longer.
