Microsorum pteropus - Jave Fern - loose

Microsorum pteropus, commonly known as Java Fern, is a timeless aquatic plant prized for its resilience and visual appeal. This loose specimen features the classic narrow, lance-shaped fronds that thrive in low-light conditions and require minimal maintenance, making it ideal for beginners and seasoned aquascapers alike.

Java Fern is rhizomatous and grows slowly, reaching 10–20 cm in height. Anchor it to driftwood, stone, or rock rather than burying it in substrate—the rhizome must remain exposed to prevent rot. Hardy and non-invasive, it won't be consumed by herbivorous fish, making it compatible with diverse stocking plans.
