The Panaqolus sp. “L397” is a visually striking species originating from the Rio Curuá-Una in Brazil, known for the dense wormline patterns on its head and light-bordered black stripes. Reaching a maximum size of 13 cm (5 inches), this peaceful Pleco thrives in aquariums with wood and rocks for shelter and prefers a primarily vegetarian diet. Though males may exhibit territorial behavior, they are generally hardy and easy to maintain, provided their dietary and environmental needs are met. Breeding can be slightly challenging, but with patience, they reproduce in typical Loricariidae fashion, with males guarding the brood in caves.
