A unique and beautifully patterned knifefish, the Ossa or Trumpet Knifefish is a cryptic species often found hiding among leaf litter. Like most knifefish, they are primarily nocturnal, and use their long snouts to root for insect larvae and crustaceans to eat. In the aquarium, they are peaceful and somewhat shy, and best kept with other peaceful species. They will usually accept frozen bloodworms, brine shrimp, and other frozen foods, but are easily outcompeted for food by fast-moving or more aggressive eaters. recommended tank size for 1 is 75 gallons.
