Threadfin Butterfly

The Threadfin Butterfly Fish, scientifically known as Chaetodon auriga, is a small marine species found in the Indo-Pacific region. Growing to a length of approximately 12-16 centimeters (4.7-6.3 inches), these fish have a laterally compressed body shape and vibrant yellow-orange coloration, with black bars across their eyes and dorsal fins. They inhabit coral reefs and feed on small invertebrates such as worms and crustaceans. These fish form monogamous pairs for reproduction and lay eggs that develop into juveniles.
