The MP10wQD is ideal for smaller aquariums, or in instances where a larger setup may require supplemental flow. This model is particularly perfect for aquariums between 2.5 and 50 gallons; providing between 200 and 1,500 gallons per hour of flow! With a patented design, its magnetic couple transmits motion through your aquarium glass (up to 0.375″ thick), while clamped against your aquarium.
Consuming a maximum of 18 watts, the VorTech MPw10QD creates up to 90% less motor noise than its predecessor! This high-tech propeller pump allows you to precisely control the movement of water, without the worry of wires in your tank, unwanted heat, or the possibility of electrical discharge! - Lagoon Mode – the pumps speed is reduced to a slow, gentler current, to replicate a natural lagoon environment.
- Reef Crest Random Mode – changes the speed repeatedly and drastically to resemble crashing waves and surging tide of a high-energy reef environment.
- Gyre Mode – creates uniform clockwise and counter clockwise flow levels, pulsing at a selected interval between 2 seconds and 2 hours.
- Short Pulse Mode – creates wave pulses at selected intervals between 0.2 and 2 seconds, offering a uniform high and low flow pattern.
- Tidal Swell Mode – water is distributed within your aquarium to replicate the changing flow conditions which occur in nature. The flow pattern will go from chaotic, to calm over the course of several hours.
- Nutrient Transport Mode – this mode consists of a two phase program, which promotes maximum health, nutrient export, and increased growth for corals. The first phase uses wave motion to stir up detritus, while the second phase uses a surging motion to move the detritus into the overflow and out of the aquarium.
- Feed Mode – with the quick touch of a button, this mode will temporarily slow down the pump, allowing you to feed the aquarium without having food be cycled through the overflow or filtration.
